Designed by the renowned Robert Trent Jones II, this course is recognized as a Top 25 Foreign Golf Resortby Conde Nast Magazine and is a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. It also hosted the first professional golf tournament in Guanacaste—the 2008 Costa Rica TLA Masters, the premier professional golf tour in Latin America.
While the course accommodates all skill levels, thanks to its fast greens, undulating fairways, and ample challenges, beginners might prefer starting with a more manageable 9 holes.

Note: As of late 2021, the Ocean Course at Peninsula Papagayo is private, and accessible only to community members, including owners, residents, and guests of the Four Seasons. (Unfortunately, because the course is now closed to the public, it can be quite the challenge to add this one to your tour of golf courses in Guanacaste, Costa Rica.)
Designed by the legendary Arnold Palmer, the Ocean Course at Peninsula Papagayo is a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary and ranks among “the Top 100 Courses Outside of the United States” by Golf Digest. This prestigious course is true standout in Costa Rica.
Set along the picturesque Pacific coast and nestled within the biodiverse Nacascolo Forest, the Four Seasons welcomes guests to their 18-hole, par-72 championship course, which meanders through old-growth forests, ancient lava flows, sea cliffs, and hilly valleys.
